It is another absolutely gorgeous day in Florida. I should spend it writing — a blog post first, followed by at least 1000 words on Grace — and then cleaning out the garage, maybe working on the kitchen.
But I’m not going to.
I’m going to float in the pool, enjoy the weather, and read more Elizabeth Peters. I’ve been binging my way through her Amelia Peabody series and although I have mixed feelings about it, I have about three more books to go. And instead of telling you all about my mixed feelings, I’m going to go read my books. 🙂

Thanks for the author suggestion; some of my most favorite authors (hint, hint) come from other authors!

Were you aware that Elizabeth (Barbara) Peters had passed away? I just went to her web site http://www.mpmbooks.com/ and learned of her passing.

I did know that — it was a while ago, I believe. She wrote for a long, long time — she was one of my favorites when I was a teenager and I’m fairly sure that some of her books were written before I was born — so it was probably not really an untimely death. But if you’ve never read her, she’s got loads of books for you. Check your library and used bookstores!

Right now I am re-reading instead of starting something or someone new. Re-reading is easier for me to put down when I need / want to.
Glad you are enjoying your day!

Technically, at least some of Amelia is re-reading for me. It’s a series I started reading in the 1980s and kept up with for maybe that decade. I’m now into the books that she was writing in the early 2000s and I definitely wasn’t reading them then, so these are new. (I bought the whole series at a garage sale in December — 20 books for $20 — intending to read them in the pool during the summer. I didn’t touch them for months but now I’m slightly obsessed!)
