Turned out it was Write a Book Description day.
For millennia, the Sia Mara hid from humanity in magical underwater refuges. They used to have seven: now they have six.
What happened to Wai Pa?
For Fen, an orphan from the surface world and the only known survivor of the fallen refuge, the answer could mean life or death. After an unprecedented series of events, she now represents her city on the Sia Maran Great Council. But she also knows a secret — that when her mother was dying, she claimed the Val Kyr were responsible for the disaster that struck Wai Pa.
When Gaelith — gifted healer, powerful mage, anticipated future queen of Syl Var, and Fen’s friend — disappears, Fen is quick to suspect the Val Kyr. Have they kidnapped Gaelith? Do they still want to murder Fen herself? Are they planning to destroy this city, too?
And what can she do to stop them?

Does it make sense? The city names feel confusing to me, but it’s book 2, I doubt anyone’s going to be reading it who hasn’t read the first one.
And does it sound fun? The book itself is 95% fun, IMO. Although I’m not sure I’m a good judge, really. But I think it’s fun. I was tempted to add more details — about Elfie and Firefly, especially, since they are basically what she’s got to answer that final question. But I’m not sure answering the question inspires as much curiosity as ending with the question does. Decisions, decisions!

I like it … it’s just enough of a tease to get people interested. And, if as you correctly surmise, readers who have read book 1 will automatically want to read book 2, the blurb won’t have to say much to get them intrigued and want to have their own copy of the book.

Well, I don’t know that Book 1 readers will automatically want Book 2. Alas! But most people on finding themselves at Book 2 without having read Book 1 are not likely to buy anyway. If they’re confused, they’ll go look at the first book. Thanks for the vote of approval, though! I hate writing these things, I’m glad you think it works.

I like it! Glad you went with this instead of Stay Under the Covers Day.

Stay Under the Covers was very, very tempting! But the weather got nicer and my host fed me some fantastic chicken curry for lunch. That and a warm shower made me think that perhaps my sinuses were not going to explode my head quite yet…

I’ve read book 1 but a brief hint in the blurb about Val Kyr would be clarifying for those new to book 2 or those like me with poor memories. just my 1 cent.

Thanks for the suggestion! I added some clarifying words, which I think is an improvement.

I love it! When can I buy it ?

Best. Reader. Ever. LOL! Pretty soon. Not quite sure because I am still editing, and the ending wants more. But definitely by December 11th.

By Decemeber 11th? Yay! I really enjoyed Book 1, and have been hoping greatly that book 2 would be written. I’ll be buying it the moment I have a purchase option.

I put the pre-order link up today! I set it for the 11th, to give me time for one last pass, but I knew I needed to let it go. And I wanted to get the link live so I could update the other books’ links. I hope you like it!
